A Winged Prayer
Yesterday a very special package arrived with
a winged prayer for my mother and
a long beautifully hand written letter
for me, from Susanna.
~
As you may know, Susanna Gordan from Susanna's Sketchbook has been working on a artistic project where she creates envelopes with wings that have messages and prayers. She has recently started a series of photographs starring her winged envelopes in both
urban and natural settings.
~
My mom and I went on a photographic adventure today so Susanna can see her work in this setting.
~
Her prayer poses with bluebonnets, the
Texas state flower.
~
And with a fire hydrant.
~
There were wings for the children at play.
~
and for the cupie in the garden
at the Excelsior House.
~
Wings landed on an old post office box.
~
Then at the base of my fathers tree.
~
After we took the photos, we passed on
Susanna's prayer, by pinning
it to the Post Office Bulletin Board.
~
Thank you Susanna for your kindness!
Thanks too for the chocolate!!
It was truly divine!

Oh my Constance.
If you only knew how often I have been thinking of you and your mom.
I was without computer, or your moms phone number.
How we all wished you were physically with us. Did you feel how much we all thought of you this week? I hope so.
Miss you muchly.

You have a beautiful blog - I love the pictures of the letter in different places - it reminded me of the "Flat Stanley" kid book! So very fun! Thanks for a nice visit!

I love Susanna's winged prayers and the way you've captured the one she sent to you and your mom throughout town, and then left it for someone to find in the post office.
Only you, sweet Constance.

Constance,
what a fairy tale. I loved its fleeting presence and now it's gone... like a butterfly.
I hope your mum's health keeps improving and I'm sure this photo adventure was beneficial for both of you!

Hi Constance,
Susanna's winged prayer sure made it's way to many lovely places. Really felt a tug at my heart seeing it at the base of your father's tree. How nice you sent it on it's way. It will touch everyone's day that catches a wonderful glimpse...

Constance,
What a fabulous idea...sending those winged prayers out amongst the world and capturing them for Susanna!
Both your spirits are flying high and the prayers landing all over your sweet mom!

It's all so lovely, a kind person sending a prayer, then the photographs then passing it on, just lovely. I think the angels would be pleased.

Hi Constance,
What a nice thing, to find a custom-made prayer for you in the mail, sent by a friend. I love how the prayer then traveled around town, winding up at the post office for someone else to find.
Love,
Kate

Susanna's project is wonderful..and I love how you took the winged prayer throughout the town, leaving it for someone else at the post office!! Won't that have made someone's day -- anyone's day who stopped to read it?!? Beautiful random acts of kindness!
