A true friend has the power to double your joys
and divide your sorrows.
I am lucky to have a good friend in Noelle.
She just came for a short visit to share her
children and her love.
To celebrate, my mom created
Bunny Rabbit Cakes
as a surprise for Jacqueline and William. The
same she made for me when I was a child.
* The method : Cut white cake into ovals, ice with Seven Minute Icing (a.k.a. Double Boiler Icing) or any type of white icing, then sprinkle with flaked coconut. For the ears, cut out white card stock into ear shape, painting the center of pink (using diluted red food coloring). Fold the bottom part of paper in half lengthwise, then press into cake where rabbit ears should be. Add pink jelly bean for eyes and a piece of chocolate for the nose. For grass, toss green food color with more coconut and arrange around the rabbit. Add a few foil Easter eggs to decorate.
We gathered all my mother's Easter
paraphernalia and set up a fanciful
Springtime centerpiece on the table.
I decorated some Easter baskets and
a great hunt was on!
After, we walked to the park, blew some bubbles,
swung on the swings and just plain had fun!
Then, we gathered colorful "fairy" flowers.......
drew stick figures with crayons,
and combining the two, we made
"Flower People".
An inspiration found on Designers Block a few weeks ago.
Children sure do have a way of making life sparkle!
